One More One Less Kindergarten, Zig and Zag, K-1
A kindergartner who is asked to count seven apples will count the picture, and if the picture is wrong the child is wrong. These pages do not ask an image to draw a number. They place the exact count on the page, then teach before they ask.

Your child is ready for this if they
- Reads a short paragraph without help
- Writes a sentence in their own words
- Will go outside and look at something for five minutes
That list matters more than the age we printed on it. You know which of the two is true of your child.
Zig dumps. Zag lines up. two sheets: Lesson 17, One More; Lesson 18, One Less.
You read the front out loud. Your child counts, circles, colors, and draws. The box of ten holes is the counting house; teachers call it a ten-frame, and your child does not need that name yet. Every question on the back is answerable from the front of that same sheet.
The rule behind every page: it teaches before it asks. Drawing counts as an answer. There is a grown-up strip on the activity page and a complete answer key at the back, on its own page, so it stays in your hands.
