Your family’s map information

How I handle your map information

For the standalone $49 curriculum map from Next Chapter Homeschool LLC, through Next Chapter Homeschool or Made For Homeschool. Scott Somers prepares the map.

What I ask for and why

Your contact and scheduling details, your child's first name or nickname and age, the educational decision you want help with, and examples you choose to share. I use these to schedule our conversation, make and deliver your map, handle corrections and payment, and answer your questions. No written questionnaire is required. You can skip a question. I do not need complete school files, diagnostic reports, passwords or private messages. I never see your card details.

Where it goes

  • Calendly handles booking details and Zoom provides the conversation. I do not record calls by default.
  • Your messages and delivered map are in our business email. Working notes and map versions are in a private, access-limited family folder, identified by a family number and your child's first name or nickname.
  • Stripe handles MFHS payments. The original NCHO store and its payment provider retain records for purchases made there. I use the payment record to verify your order; I do not store card numbers.
  • I do not make your family's document links public. A legal requirement to share information is handled separately and only the needed information is shared.

How long I keep it

I keep your working map notes and documents through the included correction period, and then for one year after that period ends or the included correction is returned, whichever is later. You can ask sooner for deletion from my working files, and I will tell you when it is done. A private backup copy can remain until it is overwritten in the normal course; I will not use it for another purpose. Payment and tax records remain with the store/payment provider under their applicable requirements.

AI and your choices

AI may help draft generic explanations or compare resources, without identifying your child or family. I make the educational decisions and review the finished map. Buying a map does not add you to a newsletter. A sample/blog signup has its own separately disclosed consent.

Ask to see what I hold about your family, correct a note, or delete your working notes and documents. Reply to your map email or use the Contact page on Next Chapter Homeschool. I will not use a real family's story, child's work, quote, image or identifying detail in marketing without separate, specific permission. Saying no does not affect your service. A different service, such as parent coaching, has its own information notice.
